I actually got quite a bit of progress done to Fourth Stage on Monday in the bit of time I had to work on it. If I can get the same amount done today, I should be able to have this running through encoder by Friday for sure. Maybe even a day or two earlier. Then that's it, 720p is all finished up.

At this rate, I can guarantee no more than 2 weeks and this will be all finished finally.

1080p will not take nearly as long because all of the subtitle work and frame by frame work was done for the 720p release. 1080p will come much faster than 720p did as a result.

Okay well, fortunately the frame by frame work I had left for syncing of Fourth Stage was identical for all the episodes. I got it all finished today and I will run it through the encoder now.

Looks like less than 48 hours for all the episodes to finish. If they pass quality check and or I don't see anything I missed, I should be able to have them all up either this Friday or by Monday.

I think before I work on Initial D 1080p I am going to quickly do High School Of The Dead in 720p and 1080p. I been wanting to redo it for a couple years now. It was the first series I ever encoded back in 2011 when I used the DVD's I had. With the Japanese and US Blu-Rays and all these years of experience, I should be able to make those old DVD ones I did look like 240p junk in comparison to these re-encodes.

High School Of The Dead (720p) is going through the encoder right now. It should be done by the time I wake up. So I might be able to have it up by tomorrow.

So it would seem the estimate is about 51.5 hours per episode and I can run 2 episodes at the same time. That's about how long it will take Initial D Fifth and Final Stages to finish in 1080p. That's about 39 days of nonstop encoder running for the 18 episodes. The rest of the series shouldn't take nearly as long to finish. These 2 stages just needed special treatment for certain pieces.

These two 1080p stages might have required much slower filters for quality, but damn did that first episode turn out nice.

I was about to announce that I was going to start on Fifth Stage today since Final Stage finally finished today. Just a moment ago, I noticed something unfortunate though.

I forgot to add an important line in the scripts that are a necessity. I am going to have to re-run all of those Final Stage episodes through the encoder again. So that's about another 7 day wait for them to finish. Screenshots are up however if your interested in how it turned out.

I typed a note in the script with # and thought I had the fix in it, but it was the note instead.


So I am running Final Stage through the encoder again, and I am also running the first 2 How To Train Your Dragon movies in 1080p through the encoder. The 2 movies should be done within 3-4 hours. That will give me something to upload while Final Stage goes through the encoder a second time.

Initial D - Final Stage has finished encoding.

Initial D - Fifth Stage scripts are finished and currently being run through the encoder. Screenshots are now available.

These scripts will take a while to finish. They will be very slow like Final Stage was so this could take about 15-36 days to finish the entire stage. Luckily this is the last stage that will be going this slow due to higher quality settings and special treatment being needed. So once this is finished, the rest should come pretty quickly.

Well to my surprise, Fifth Stage is not taking nearly as long to finish. The first 2 episodes already finished. I guess because I didn't need to use a protective mask in combination with the filters like I did with Final Stage.

If this keeps up, this should be done in about a week or so.

Gramps isn't doing so well is on whats called Hospice or something. They estimate he may have days left to live at most. I'm helping out a bit and might not get much if any work done the next couple of days as a result.

The gramps situation seems to have stabilized. Doctors are surprised he's even alive and so am I, but I can't live with them forever to take constant care of him. I have a life of my own still.

I am back home and I will be getting back to work on Initial D (1080p) today.

I have a ton of shit to do today, so I doubt I will have a ton of time for anything today. After today though, I have pretty much nothing but time for chats and encoding work.

I'll probly throw a movie up just to have an upload, and get Third Stage all finished up within the next couple days.

Forgot to post that update in here yesterday after I put it in Discord. Those are the current plans at the moment.

I had my Nieces and nephews over for 3 days, so I didn't do any work, but I did just finish Initial D - Third Stage work for today. I have 2 scripts going through the encoder right now. When they finish, I will compare and check the two of them and Third Stage 1080p is officially done. Will get to work on Second Stage right after.
