| CURRENT PLANS I found a bit of extra free time on my Sunday and I don't usually work on encodes on the weekends much. I have not had any uploads lately because of the HUGE Initial D project I am trying to finish up and I needed to get at least something up so I didn't get too bothered by it. Because of this, I quickly did a 12 episode anime series called The Sacred Blacksmith. The work overall only took me about 4 hours, so much less than the usual amount I would spend when using a Japanese source with US audio and subtitles from another source. It did not really need very much work and the subtitle retiming and video frame sync was pretty straight forward compared to the usual work amount. The 1080p version is running through the encoder and should be done in a couple hours. I will put that up after I have had about 24 hours to seed the 720p release. Once finished, I will do the last piece of work on the last Initial D series and get that full complete series torrent put up. This last piece is alot of frame by frame work as well, so thanks for your patience. Once that 480/576p complete series torrent is up, if I don't feel like a couple days break, I will get back to work on the 720p complete series part of the project, because I FINALLY got the last part of the Japanese Pit Box 2 set and it is now possible to get the best looking version of each individual Initial D series. |

If they were released on DVD/Blu-Ray and or if I can manage to get ahold of them. I considered them part of the Shippuden series since they were released after Shippuden started and almost all of them are about Shippuden age characters. I have not bought, or looked for them yet like I did those 4 Naruto ones. |

Those may take a long while to get ahold of by download and or purchase. I wouldn't do a daily check for these. I threw those 4 up because I had 3 out of the 4 finished from months ago when I was working on the 3 Naruto movies and felt like getting the last one out of the way finally since it was a pain in the ass lol. |

| I was getting a show off Netflix to burn to Blu-Ray for the family kids as a Christmas gift, called Miraculous Ladybug. I ended up watching some of it and for whatever reason it's addicting as hell. I ended up liking it myself, so I decided to encode it and burn a much better looking version and share the encodes with all of you.
I went looking to see if me encoding it was even needed. The encodes I could find were pretty poor looking. I compared 5 different releases I found thoroughly. 3 of them were shit, 2 of them were acceptable. The iTunes ones were the worst of them all, I never would have expected that. Netflix was the clear winner as the best looking source this time around. None of them looked all that great to me though. They needed some work to meet my expectations.
Here is an example of what I am talking about.
AMAZON - DARKDREAM787 http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/126449
Better than iTunes and had more bitrate than iTunes, but Amazon just straight up butchered all the details and smeared a lot out of it.
TROLLHD - DARKDREAM787 http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/126450
TrollHD was the best looking encodes I could find, but they have a lot of jagged lines and edges with halo's around them. Just look at the cheek bones, glasses rims, and black lines on shirt at the bottom. You will notice the difference. 5 of their episodes also had sped up audio pitch like PAL, which was very noticeable.
Anyways, their all finished and I have them burnt for the kids. I'll put the encodes up in a few days. I really need my bandwidth for uploading and seeding on private torrent trackers at the moment to get my ratio up.
Will finish up Initial D Battle Stage 2 after Christmas. The subtitles are taking me a LOT of work.

| Hey Darkdream787
I have a few of your old encodes in Street Fighter 2V, Street Fighter 2 and Double Dragon. Would like to upload somewhere for the public to download but i'm not comfortable to do any torrenting at this point. I'm from Singapore btw so let me know if you have any open suggestions.
Thanks! |

Will finish up Initial D Battle Stage 2 after Christmas. The subtitles are taking me a LOT of work. Are you able to copy from Netflix? If yes, which software do you use? What kind of computer do you use to encode, CPU, GPU? |

What kind of computer do you use to encode, CPU, GPU? Anyone is able to, there are lots of different softwares and methods for it. Most of them are simply recorders that record it as it streams. Direct downloads, the people that do know wont tell anything sadly. Google search can offer lots of suggestions. Your question has confused me a bit. CPU and GPU are not computers, their hardware parts inside of them. I don't believe you can encode with just a GPU alone. I do not use my GPU's memory or CPU to assist me at all. I think it's a waste and much weaker than my motherboard processor. |

| Free leech on the private tracker I am using ends January 2nd. I will put my next upload up when it ends. I need all my upload bandwidth for ratio gains on the private trackers. So far I have gotten a nice haul and will have some great surprises coming. |

What motherboard do you have that are so powerful? How do you store all files, in a server, NAS or on the same computer that you encode? |

X99 Motherboard. I pasted my entire computer hardware list and specs somewhere in here when I built it a couple years ago. The motherboard isn't the power when it comes to video editing. You can have any motherboard that supports a great CPU and can hold more than 16GB of RAM. Just pay attention to the bus and slot speeds. It's the $1200 CPU and 64GB of RAM that works for my encoding software. I store the files on the same computer as I encode on of course. It's not wise to encode when the files are coming from a USB storage device. Lot's of things can go wrong and or it may not be as quickly encoded. I guarantee you will shorten the hard drives lifespan by alot if you do that. Once encoding is finished, I move the finished to an external hard drive and delete everything else. |

| I am pretty excited with all the good grabs I got. I even found a Japanese Blu-Ray set I never expected to come across. I wanted to encode Ronin Warriors one day and I am so glad I didn't get around to it because the Blu-Ray release I found makes it look like total shit, and nothing I did could have fixed it up as nice as this Blu-Ray looks.
Here are a couple unfiltered images.
https://i.imgur.com/DXVk5VA.png https://i.imgur.com/drsdybM.png https://i.imgur.com/BI3pfDD.png https://i.imgur.com/3AM6JaF.png https://i.imgur.com/y1fQHPr.png
I don't even have to tell you which is which, I'm sure you can tell on your own.
There was alot of crushed colors and things in the DVD's that's for sure.
I played around with only the first episode to see what kind of work it would be to take the English audio from the DVD's. Some of it was impossible to sync because the Japanese and English were so different, but I'd say I fixed that pretty well. I just used the Japanese opening and closing instead of the shitty English ones that were all talk and no music. Then I made the BD and DVD episode video's match frame by frame and put the 3 together when done. So it definitely has some frame by frame work in there. Luckily its predictable where to work on them at.
I also played with it to see how much work it would be to sync the Japanese audio and retime the subtitles as well. Japanese audio sync is no work at all, it's the subtitle retiming that is.
It seems like alot of work and I may only care to do it in English because of it. It's a tough call because I think the subtitled version is better, but I did manage to get the first episode into pretty much a perfect dual audio episode. I think I might just put in the extra work since it appears no one else has.
Here is the first episode just quickly done with no filtering. I would of course be doing 720p and 1080p when working on it. This 480p was for quickness and comparison with DVD.
https://mega.nz/#!5h4CXAKC!JKvh14f5IA_3hf7ZmfOuWvtDl0QxPeh904q-DfPdCgM
Someday I'll get to it. Someday... it seems like a newer release, so I will wait a little to see if a USBD comes out and makes subtitle or english audio work any easier.
Until then, back to work on Initial D I go! (Damn this is taking forever lol I can't wait to have it finished and out of the way) |

| I got battle Stage 2 finished encoding, I just need to finish some subtitles up and I should have them all up, possibly right after Howls Moving Castle has had some time to seed. I would assume about a week to a maximum of 2 weeks. That marks the end of the 480p Complete Series job.
Since all the hard work is done, it makes 720p much easier to finish quicker. All that's left is finish Stage 1&4 720p and reformat the subtitles to display in 720p and that will go up asap. |
